A big thank you

On behalf of the year 9's I just  wanna say a BIG thank you to all of the teachers and students who have been there for us and we have really enjoined it... THNKX

Last day of school

I  was really sad to leave Te pahu but my journey has just begun at Ta Awamutu. I'm really gonna miss all my friends and I hope Taylor is ok being the only girl for a few days... I hope to keep in touch with you all, some of you by kik, Instagram, snapchat and Skype...... I have really enjoined my last few years especially so thank you to all of the people who made my last year fun.. Ill miss you all... 

2013

I have really enjoied 2013 and im really gonna miss my friends especially Pixie :) I have some realy special memories at Te Pahu. I have also learnt not to be gullible unlike some people 

Melted Crayon Art

Room7 did melting crayon art..... We got a choice on what to do it on and me and pixie chose to do a heart.. We had to cut out a heart and and stick it on to our canvas so the melted crayon wouldnt go thorugh.... Then we had to stick the crayons onto the canvas. Finally we got to the melting stage.. We got a hair dryer instead of a heat gun because we thought a hesat gun does a fast job so we chose a hair dryer... Pixie didnt want to mess it up so she got me to do the melting. After we melted it we carefully took the paper heart away... All of the melted crayon had melted under the paper and there was only half a heart. :) At first we didnt really like it but then we didnt mind it.

Energy And Sound

This term our WALT is all about sound and energy. we have been learning what sound is and how it travels, the conservation of energy and what it is and the characteristics of sound. We have looked at lots of videos and that really helped me understand more about energy and sound. We did an experiment about the high pitch and the low pitch of a stereo, We got up to 20(Hz) and no one could hear it and we also had to guess witch pitch Mr. Marquand had truned up or down. Looking at videos and doing experiments has really helped me to understand all about sound and how i travels. I had a question, it was can heat change into a diferent form but then i thougght about it and i thought if it cooled down it changed into clod air, but i was wondering if it could change into anything else. I was really proud on how much new things I learnt.

Athletics

On Wednesday 30th October 2013 Te Pahu School and Paterangi had Athletics at Te Pahu School. 

There were 6 events; long jump, high jump, discuss, shot put, hurdles and Sprints. 

There were hotdogs, juices and much more food and drinks for sale thanks to the P.T.A. 

Taylor Begovich one of the Te Pahu students said," I really enjoied the day and I was surprised in how high I got in high jump". 

Overall the thing I enjoied te most was getting to know mikaela from Paterangi better. Next time I would like to controll my nerves in high jump. 

My Favourite activity was sprints because I came 1st in all of my races. I also reckon that I could've jumped better in long jump. 

I thought the day was fun and we all really enjoied it.

Clearing And Planting Day

On Fiday week 1 of term 4 Room 7 and pirongias yr 7 & 8 sudents went up to the Pirongia Forest Park Lodge to help plant and clear for the outdoor classroom. The outdoor classroom is a place where kate and teachers can help students and other people learn more about our enviroment and help protect native specis. We did this so the outdoor classroom is surrounded by native bush so its a good place to learn. Pixie Cameron said ," I felt good helping out the enviroment but it was really hard. Kayla Moulder-Aitken also said," We all had so much fun but the funniest part was when Mr Marquand rolled down the hill". Everyone worked hard and at the end of the day everyone was tired but PROUD OF HOW THEY HELPED.

AG Day

On Wednesday 10th October 2013 Te Pahu School had an AG day, It was for the students to have a taste in farming their own animals and having fun. All of the rings were set up thanks to the PTA. 

Pixie Cameron one of the Te Pahu School Students said " I had to lead and call my lamb and everything went as planned except for the leading and it was very challenging keeping my lamb clean".

There were lots of animals but what surprised me the most was that there were only 4 goats and there were meant to be 7. 

Thanks to the PTA there was Los of yummy food for sale. 

On AG day I was 1 of the 9 runners so I thought it was a privilege. I was a runner for the goats section and we were done pretty quickly so I helped out some of the other rings. A runner has to run all of the results up to the recorders In Room 6.

Pixie Cameron said "Overall I think everybody enjoyed it and we all had so much fun".  

Statistics project

Me, Pixie and Shawna did our statistics project on age. We had to do ages of people if there was only 100 people in the world and this is what we came up with.

Holidays

In the holidays it was my best friends birthdays. Pixie and Kayla. They both turned 13. Me Pixie andTaylor went to Kayla's birthday party. It was outdoor laser tag. It was soooo fun. Then a few days after I went to pixies house to stay the night I knew  that I was in for a long night.....! At 12:00 me and Pixie got up running around the  house yelling YAY IT'S PIXIES BIRTHDAY SHE'S FINALLY 13. We had so much fun and in the morning I invited Pixie to come to the batch with us in Tairua. We went fishng and pixie caught the first fish.... 

Wow what an awesome few days of the holidays I had I can't wait till the 6 week holidays. Lol yolo tehe

Alphabet Advice

Room 7 are doing an alphabet advice page. You have to give advice for every letter in the alphabet. This is one my friend made- you're friendship is like wetting you're pants but only you can feel the warmth- Kayla Moulder-Aitken. I think that was the best advice I've ever heard. 

Ventures

On Friday 13th Te Pahu School is doing a market day. We have our own society its calle te maunga shire. We have a priminister and we have the board of govenours. We have one more day to the market day and we are all under pressure. Busy Bees is mine kaylas and Pixies venture. We are selling toffee,milkshakes,fudge and cocconut ice. We would really love it if you could come and see us on market day and buy some of our stuff. Kind Regards Busy Bees.

Snow Trip

On Friday 6th September room 7 went on a ski trip to whakapapa.I think that hardest thing was trying to get up after you fell over. The most funniest thing was when I saw Mr. Marquand fall over. I had a few really bad falls but luckily i had people to help me. i really want to go again it was to fun. next time i would like to try the t bars.

Camp 2013

In April 2013 Room 7 went on an awesome camp at Karapiro. At camp we did lots of different activities some of them was the extreme edge, biscuiting , high ropes, diamond heist etc. One of my favorite activities was the diamond heist and the biscuiting. Camp was so much fun !!!

Cross Country

On Friday 24th May it was cross country. I was 3rd overal and 2nd  in my age group. We had to run two kilometers with a big hill at the end. I found it really challenging but it was also really fun. I am proud of myself for beating my time by 5 minutes.

Swimming survival

In term one Room 7 had a swimming survival practice. We all had to lots of different activities. Some of them were very challenging the hardest one was floating for 1 minute. This was a really fun activity and I really enjoied it.
 One of the other activities was a really difficult challenge. You had to wear jeans and a hooded jersey and you had to try and take them off in the water as if you were stuck out at sea. I found it quite easy to take the jeans off but it was really hard to take the jersey off. The first thing I would take off if I was stuck out at sea is my pants and then my jersey.

Silage Stacking

In week 8 Room 7 went to the Kelly's farm and helped out with silage stacking. It was really fun and it was a challenging activity. We raised a lot of money for our class. We were all very tired after this but it was all worth it. 

Paper strip portraits

In Room 7 we have been  learning how to do pencil portrait art and part of the pencil portrait art was to do paper strip portraits. The strip art was very challenging to get the right parts of your face together. It was a very fun activity.

Pencil Portrait

In Room 7 we  have been learning lots of different sketching and drawing  skills. One of the skills we learnt was pencil portrait art. The hardest thing was trying to get the right shape of your face and mouth. I found my eyes the easiest to do. It was a very challenging activity to do but in the end all of the finished results looked awesome. next time i want to try and make my mouth look better.
